ALIQUIPPA — The Belle Vernon-Aliquippa game, a matchup of defending state champions, was called late in the first quarter because of excessive lightning with Aliquippa leading 14-0. The game will be ruled a no contest.

The game was delayed for about an hour midway through the first quarter because of lightning. Following the second stoppage, it was decided that the game would not resume.
