Carlynton shuts out Avella
Devonte Dean ran for a touchdown and threw for two scores to lead Carlynton to a 21-0 victory over Avella on Friday in non-conference play.
Dean’s seven-yard run with 2:46 left in the third quarter broke a scoreless tie. He threw a 26-yarder for a touchdown with 1:00 left in the third before tossing a three-yarder with 8:48 left in the fourth period.
Avella’s Chas Rush was 4-of-8 for 49 yards. Teammate Broden Hamm gained 55 yards on 14 carries. The Eagles’ Ronnie Kozak caught two passes for 33 yards.
