Indiana stops Ringgold in overtime
INDIANA – Indiana’s defense stopped a Ringgold two-point conversion on the final play of overtime to edge the Rams 14-13 in a nonconference game Friday night.
The win snapped an eight-game losing streak for Indiana (1-1).
The game was tied 7-7 after four quarters. Indiana had the first possession of OT and scored a touchdown with a successful extra-point kick for a 14-7 lead.
Ringgold, after a penalty, was backed up to the 15-yard line on its OT possession but completed a pass for 10 yards. Two plays later, quarterback Szyaire Dungee ran three yards for a touchdown that pulled Ringgold to within 14-13.
The Rams (0-2) opted for the potential win and tried a two-point conversion. Dungee attempted to scramble up the middle but was stopped short of the goal line.
