Welhorsky directs South Fayette to 2nd win

McDONALD — Drew Welhorsky ran for two touchdowns and passed for another in South Fayette’s 28-6 nonconference victory over Shaler on Friday night.

South Fayette (2-0) scored the game’s first 28 points. Sylas Aitken started the scoring with a 44-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Welhorsky threw a 34-yard scoring pass to Aiden Martincic to make it a 14-0 lead for the Lions. The South Fayette quarterback added scoring runs of 25 and one yards as the lead grew to 28-0.

Shaler avoided the shutout with a touchdown in the second half, It was the first score allowed by the Lions this season.
