Monessen hangs on to defeat Chartiers-Houston
HOUSTON — Tim Kershaw threw a 70-yard touchdown pass and Monessen built a two touchdown lead before hanging on to defeat Chartiers-Houston 14-7 on Friday night at Buccaneer Stadium in Class A Black Hills Conference play.
The Greyhounds (2-1, 6-1) had a 14-0 halftime advantage, but the Buccaneers (1-3, 3-4) cut the deficit in half when Nathan Brezinski caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Walsh and Teegan Bogden added the extra point in the third quarter.
Walsh was 8 of 14 for 65 yards and he rushed for 49 on 15 carries.
