Qualk scores 5 TDs in California’s triumph over Beth-Center
FREDERICKTOWN — California took care of its end of the bargain and will head into next week’s regular-season finale undefeated in the Class A Tri-County South Conference following a 56-14 victory over Beth-Center.
The Trojans (6-0, 7-2) host Jefferson-Morgan (6-0, 9-0) next week for the conference championship.
The Trojans’ Lee Qualk scored the first four touchdowns, as California had a 30-0 lead after the first quarter. Qualk gained 257 yards on 21 carries and scored five touchdowns.
Aiden Keyes had touchdown runs of 47 and 39 yards for California. Keyes gained 101 yards on four carries.
Teagan Veatch returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown to get the Bulldogs (1-5, 1-7) on the scoreboard in the second quarter. Teammate DeSean Whipkey scored on a two-yard run in the fourth.
