Welhorsky throws 5 TD passes as South Fayette stays undefeated

ELIZABETH – Drew Welhosrky passed for five touchdowns as South Fayette remained undefeated with a 38-19 victory over host Elizabeth Forward in a nonconference game Friday night.

EF (1-3) forged a 6-0 lead before Welhorsky got the Lions’ passing game in high gear. The quarterback threw scoring passes of 40 and 45 yards to Ben Cavenaugh and a 20-yard scoring strike to Tyson Wright to put South Fayette (4-0) up 21-6.

Luke Gillen booted a 41-yard field goal to make it 24-6 at halftime.

Welhorsky threw his fourth TD pass, a 35-yarder to Ray Schuler that pushed the Lions’ lead to 31-6 in the third quarter.

Welhorsky threw a 53-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to Alex Eanes.
