MT. LEBANON – Zach Barzd kicked his third field goal of the game in overtime, and Canon-McMillan intercepted a pass on Mt. Lebanon’s extra possession as the Big Macs rallied late for a 17-14 victory in a Class 6A Quad County Conference game Friday night.

Mt. Lebanon (0-0-2, 0-5) took a 14-6 lead with 2:23 remaining in the fourth quarter when Kris Kambitsis scored on a two-yard run.

Canon-McMillan (1-0, 2-3), however, rallied and closed to within 14-12 when Evan Morris scored on a one-yard plunge with 20 seconds to play in regulation. C-M’s Ty Jansma passed for Morris the two-point conversion that forced overtime.

C-M had the first possession of OT and settled for the Barzd field goal. Barzd booted field goals of 27 and 26 yards in the first half.

Mt. Lebanon led 7-6 at halftime because of Patrick Smith’s 13-yard TD pass to Noah Schaerli in the first quarter.

Troy Stimpson paced C-M’s ground game with 56 yards on 13 carries.
