MONONGAHELA — Ringgold had a lead at the end of the first quarter, but Southmoreland rallied for a 32-15 triumph on Friday in nonconference play at Joe Montana Stadium.

The Rams’ Demetri Lowe pulled in a 49-yard touchdown reception from Amoni Ward and William Cameron made the extra point for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Scotties (4-1) outscored Ringgold 18-0 in the second period on Jake Kaylor’s 27-yard field goal, Makel Darnell’s 52-yard punt return for a touchdown and Jackson Mickens’ 13-yard touchdown reception from Anthony Smith.

Kaylor made the extra point on Darnell’s score and Dawson Wolfe threw to Stanley Chapman for the two-point conversion.

Ward and Lowe hooked up again on a 26-yard strike and the duo connected for the two point conversion to cut the deficit to 18-15 in the third quarter, but the Scotties scored two touchdowns in the fourth to put the game away.

Ward was 7 of 18 for 136 yards and Lowe caught 4 passes for 112 yards.

Ringgold (1-4) opens Class 4A Big Six Conference play next week at Trinity (1-4).
