Big 4th quarter sparks Chartiers-Houston in win at Monessen
MONESSEN – Chartiers-Houston (2-2, 4-3) scored 19 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to defeat Monessen, 31-18, in a Class A Black Hills Conference game Friday night.
After Rodney Johnson scored on a 26-yard run to give the Greyhounds (1-2, 4-3) the lead, Aaron Walsh returned the ensuing kickoff 98 yards to tie it up at 18-18.
Walsh then connected on a 19-yard touchdown pass with Brody McCrerey to give the Bucs the lead. Dominic Andreoli added a two-yard touchdown run to close the scoring.
Johnson had a pair of touchdowns for Monessen and Tavian Taylor scored on a 65-yard run.
Walsh hit Julius Livingston for a pair of touchdowns in the first half and the score was tied 12-12 at the break.
