Chartiers Valley deals Belle Vernon a heartbreaking defeat
BRIDGEVILLE – Luke Miranda hit Owen Weagraf with a 12-yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds remaining and threw a successful two-point conversion to Tayshaun Lewis as Chartiers Valley (2-0, 6-1) handed Belle Vernon (0-2, 1-5) a heartbreaking 36-35 defeat in a Class 4A Big Six Conference game.
Prior to the game-winning score, Chase Petrosky scored on a 17 run for his fourth touchdown of the night to give the Leopards the lead. Petrosky also scored on runs of three, 30 and 71 yards.
Miranda had four touchdown passes for the Colts and Michael Lawrence returned a fumble 96 yards for a score.
Curtis Wade scored on a three-yard run for the Leopards.
