UPPER ST. CLAIR – South Fayette hung with Upper. St Clair for a quarter, but the Panthers’ high-powered offense proved to be too much.

The Panthers (1-1, 6-1) pulled away for a 50-14 victory in a Class 5A Allegheny Six Conference game.

Tyson Wright caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Drew Welhorsky and Welhorsky scored on a 27-yard run in the first quarter, which gave the Lions (1-1, 5-2) a brief 14-10 lead.

Panthers quarterback Ethan Hellmann threw three touchdown passes and kicker Jacobo Echeverria-Lozano made three field goals for the Panthers.

Hellmann finished with 203 yards passing.
