Washington flexed its muscles Friday night at the expense of Keystone Oaks.

The Prexies, looking refreshed and reinvigorated, put together their second straight strong performance and sent Keystone Oaks packing, 55-0, in a Class 2A Century Conference game.

The win moved Washington to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Keystone Oaks fell to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

The Prexies’ defense was magnificent, sacking Keystone Oaks quarterback Owen Gearhart numerous times and intercepting him four times. The best was a 76-yard interception return for a score by Jaquay Heyman.

Mahkai Wise scooped up a fumble and went five yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

Washington’s dominance began with the opening kickoff, when Ameer Nelson returned the kick for a touchdown. However, Wash High was called for holding, negating the return.

Tristan Reed directed the drive and capped it with a 1-yard run,

It was the first of three touchdowns for Reed in the half and one of six straight possessions that ended in touchdowns for the Prexies.

But there was concern for Washington on Reed’s third touchdown run, this one from three yards out. Reed laid on the field after the play and eventually made his way to the bench.

Even with their best playmaker on the bench, the Washington offense kept scoring. Jahvon Woods scored on a 1-yard run and, with Reed back in the game, Trenton Grooms caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Reed. Caleb Patton finished the scoring by snagging a 12-yard pass from Reed that pushed the Prexies lead to 41-0 and sent the game into the Mercy Rule.
