Avella improves to 3-0 with win over Springdale
SPRINGDALE – Chas Rush returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown and threw a 38-yard pass to Bryce Wright for another score as Avella (3-0) cruised to a 35-6 victory at Springdale (0-2) Friday night.
Rush’s punt return opened the scoring in the first quarter and was followed by a Noah Kimberland 5-yard touchdown run.
Wright added a 2-yard touchdown in the second quarter to give the Eagles a 19-0 lead at halftime.
Rush’s TD pass to Wright came in the third quarter and Gage Samol scored on a 13-yard run.
Dominic Muzzi’s two-point conversion put the game into mercy rule at 35-0 with 5:44 remaining in the third.
