Jansma lead Canon-McMillan past South Fayette
CANONSBURG – Ty Jansma passed for 243 yards and three touchdowns and Canon-McMillan (1-2) secured its first win of the season by knocking off South Fayette, 37-28, Friday night.
The Big Macs got out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter on a Rhys Maentz 34-yard field goal and a 48-yard connection from Jansma to Roman Cimaroli.
Drew Welhorsky led South Fayette on consecutive scoring drives, hitting Daniel Speca in the back of the end zone for a 13-yard touchdown and ran one in from 7-yards.
That gave South Fayette (1-2) a brief lead, but Jansma led the Big Macs down the field and found Ethan Campoli for a 3-yard touchdown in the final minute of the first half.
Mason Calgaro added a pair of touchdown runs in the second half to help the Big Macs pull away.
Campoli and Jansma also connected again on a 15-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Welhorsky had 181 yards passing and two touchdowns to Speca, who had 164 yards receiving.
