Corpus Christi, Monterrey get extra-innings wins

Corpus Christi, Texas scored six runs in the top of the 10th inning and outlasted Bay County, Mich., 8-3, Saturday afternoon at the Pony League World Series.

J.J. De Los Santos went 5-for-6 with three doubles and drove in two runs to lead the winners at the plate. Gabriel Trevino also drove in a pair of runs.

Mason Krager had three hits for Bay County.

The game went to extra innings tied at 1-1. Both teams scored a run in the eighth.

Monterrey, Mexico 8, South Hills 7, innings

Monterrey tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning and beat South Hills an inning later, 8-7.

Sergio Guajardo drove in three runs for Monterrey and Angel ponce hit a home run.

Santiago Villanueva pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief to get the win.

South Hills was held to six hits. Jonah Koontz was 2-for-4 with a home run. He drove in three runs.
