Penguins acquire MacArthur from Lightning

Pittsburgh concluded draft weekend by acquiring forward Bennett MacArthur from Tampa Bay in exchange for Lukas Svejkovsky on Sunday.
The announcement was made by Penguins President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas.
MacArthur is signed through the 2024-25 season and carries an average annual value of $925,000 at the NHL level.
The 23-year-old played the majority of last season in the ECHL between the Allen Americans and Orlando Solar Bears with 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points. He played two games with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
Pittsburgh traded its first-round draft pick, but made six on Saturday in Day 2 of the 2024 NHL Draft at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The Penguins selected Harrison Brunicke in the second round with the 44th overall selection. Tanner Howe was taken two picks later.
Chase Pietila was chosen with the 111th overall pick in the fourth round and Joona Vaisanen was 175th overall in the sixth round.
Mac Swanson (207th) and Finn Harding (223rd) were selected in the seventh round.
Brunicke played in 49 games with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL last season. He had 21 points with 10 goals and 11 assists. The 6-foot-3, 196-pound defenseman is a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, but played for Canada in the 2024 World Under-18 Championship.
Howe, 18, spent last season with the Regina Pats of the WHL, where he served as captain and led the team in goals (28), assists (49) and points (77) in 68 games. The 5-10, 183-pound forward has played in parts of the past four seasons with Regina.
