Cruz Homers, Pirates beat Blue Jays

O’Neil Cruz hammered a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie and the Pittsburgh Pirates went on to defeat Toronto, 7-6, in Grapefruit League play Wednesday in Bradenton, Fla.

Joey Bart followed Cruz with another home run, his second in as many days.

Mitch Keller started for the Pirates (7-5) and pitched 3 2/3rds innings allowing one run on one hit. He had three strikeouts and walks each.
