Pham Homers, leaves game with injury in Pirates loss

Tommy Pham hit a solo home run in the third inning, but had to leave the game with a hip injury in the Pirates’ 5-3 loss to Detroit in Grapefruit League play Sunday.
Pham, a 37-year old veteran outfielder, who signed with Pittsburgh prior to spring training, is considered day-to-day.
Joey Bart had an RBI single in the loss.
Right-handed reliever Justin Lawrence, who was acquired off waivers from Colorado, made his Pirates debut and pitched a scoreless eighth inning.
