Wild Things rally past Florence
FLORENCE, Ky. — Washington shook off its first road loss to rally for a 6-5 victory over Florence on Sunday to take the three-game series.
The Wild Things (14-6) are tied with Schaumburg for first place in the Frontier League’s West Division. New York leads the East Division at 14-6.

The Y’alls (7-12) jumped on Dariel Fregio in the first, as Brian Fuentes hit a three-run home run and Sergio Gutierrez had a run-scoring single.
Jonaiker Villalobos retired the first 10 Washington batters he faced before walking two in the fourth, including Andrew Czech, who has reached base safely in 52 straight games.
Tommy Caufield and Ethan Wilder scored Washington’s first two runs in the fifth on Caleb McNeely’s base hit and Quincy Latimore’s two-run homer in the sixth tied the game at four.
McNeely doubled to lead off the seventh, advanced to third on a bunt and scored on Robert Chayak’s RBI single. Wilder doubled and scored on Carson Clowers’ base hit for what turned out to be the game-winning run.
Fregio got into a groove following the first with five-straight scoreless innings. Fregio yielded four earned runs on eight hits over six innings. He struck out two and walked one to improve his season record to 3-1 despite a 5.75 ERA.
