JOLIET, ILL. – Pavin Parks hit a three-run homer in Washington’s four-run first inning and the Wild Things went on to a 6-2 victory over the Joliet Slammers on Wednesday night.

Winning pitcher Zach Kirby (7-5) allowed two hits and one run over six innings, and Charles Mack and Andrew Czech added solo home runs for the Wild Things, who remain one game behind first-place Lake Erie in the Central Division standings with four games remaining in the regular season.

The home run by Czech was his 25th of the season. Tyreque Reed had an RBI double in the first inning.

The Wild Things will enter the Frontier League playoffs as either the No. 2 or No. 4 seed in the Midwest Conference.
