Wild Things add 2 more pitchers
The Wild Things recently added two pitchers to their roster for spring training in 2026 and both are hoping to make their Frontier League debuts next year.
Washington signed left-hander Nick Powers and right-hander Austin Eaton.
Powers has professional experience, having spent two years in the independent Pioneer League with the Rocky Mountain Vibes.
Powers played collegiately at Michigan State, where he compiled a 19-17 record in 51 career games (45 starts).
In the hitter-friendly Pioneer League, Powers had an 8-4 record last year in 19 starts. In 101 innings, he struck out 76 and had a 5.61 ERA. He was one of only nine pitchers in the league to throw at least 100 innings.
In 2024, Powers had a 3-5 record and struck out 53 in 66.2 innings.
Eaton is a rookie who last summer played in two leagues, finishing the year with the West Virginia Black Bears of the MLB Draft League.
Eaton spent the last two springs pitching for Texas State. He had a 4-3 record and 4.07 over 13 appearances (11 starts). He was John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year semifinalist as he also was an infielder and hit four home runs.
Last summer, with West Virginia, Eaton had three saves and 15 strikeouts over 14.1 innings.
The Wild Things currently have six pitchers on their roster for 2026.
