Czech to play 6th season with Wild Things

The middle of the Wild Things’ lineup got a little more potent Monday when the Frontier League team announced that first baseman Andrew Czech has committed to return for the 2026 season on a club option.
A native of Reminderville, Ohio, the power-hitting Czech will be returning for his sixth season in Washington.
Last year, Czech batted .265 and set a career-high with a .555 slugging percentage. Czech hit 16 doubles, one triple and a career-high 25 home runs, which led the league. He also drove in a career-high 80 RBI.
Of Czech’s 25 home runs, four were grand slams, which set the Frontier League single-season record.
Czech has hit 87 home runs in his career, which is the most in Wild Things history and ranks fourth in the Frontier League, only one behind former teammate Anthony Brocato’s 88.
Czech will be only the second player in Wild Things history to play six seasons in Washington. Frontier League Hall of Famer Chris Sidick played seven years and appeared in 588 regular-season games. Czech has played in 444 games.
Czech had a franchise-record 60-game on-base streak that started in the 2023 season and extended into 2024. It was nine short of the league record. Washington has won four division titles, including each of the last two years, with Czech on the roster.
