Caleb McNeely hit a two-run homer and the Wild Things won their third consecutive game, defeating the Ottawa Titans 4-2 Wednesday night at EQT Park.

McNeely, last year’s Frontier League MVP, hit his homer in the fifth inning and it gave Washington a 4-1 lead.

Wild Things starter Regi Grace (1-0) pitched five innings for the win. Joelvis Del Rosario pitched the ninth inning for his second save in as many nights. Ottawa did score one run in the ninth and had the bases loaded when Del Rosario got a ground ball that ended the Titans’ rally.

Washington took a 2-1 lead in the first inning as Tyreque Reed had an RBI triple into the right-field corner and then scored when Andrew Czech grounded out.

The teams will conclude the three-game series at 10:35 a.m. today. The Wild Things will open a weekend series at Florence on Friday.
