Wild Things release 2026 schedule

The 2026 Frontier League schedule was released Monday and there was one major change.
The league is going from a 96-game schedule to 102 games.
That means the Washington Wild Things will have 51 home games this year, and the home opener is Friday, May 15 against the Schaumburg Boomers, which is the first of a three-game set.
It’ll be the first of nine weekend home series on the schedule.
Prior to the home opener, the Wild Things will begin the season with a seven-game road trip. They open the season with one-game at Windy City before making a short trip across Chicago to play Joliet for a three-game series. Another three-game series in Evansville follows.
The majority of Washington’s home games for 2026 are in June. Of the 24 games the Wild Things play that month, 18 are home with series against Gateway, Florence, New Jersey, Mississippi, Windy City and Joliet.
Washington has only nine home games in both July and August. The Frontier League All-Star game is in Florence on July 14
In August, Washington plays a week-long series in Mississippi.
The Wild Things finish the 2026 regular season with a six-game home stand against Gateway and Schaumburg.
All 18 teams that played in the Frontier League last year have returned. Washington does not play all of the other 17 teams, however.
The three Canadian teams, Ottawa, Quebec and Trois-Rivieres are not on the schedule and neither is Sussex County or Tri-City.
The teams in the Atlantic Conference that the Wild Things play are Brockton, New Jersey, Down East and New York.
There is no change to the playoff system. There will once again be a best of three-game Wild Card Round, a best of five-game Conference Championship with the winners playing a best of five-game Frontier League Championship series.
