Wild Things hit 3 home runs in win at Joliet
JOLIET, Ill. – Graham Brown, Caleb Ketchup and Cole Fowler homered, powering the Wild Things to an 8-2 win over the Joliet Slammers in a series opener Friday night.
Brown, who finished with three RBI, hit a two-run homer in the second inning off Joliet starter Gunnar Kines (0-1).
Washington’s Kobe Foster (1-0) pitched five shutout innings and struck out four. Reliever Hector Garcia followed with two scoreless innings, striking out five.
The score was 2-0 entering the eighth inning, when Washington pushed across three runs. Flower and Andrew Czech had RBI doubles and Brown hit a sacrifice fly.
Ketchup and Fowler homered in the ninth to make it an 8-0 game.
Joliet’s Josh Phillips broke up the shutout bid with a home run in the bottom of the ninth.
