In mourning
The headlines, various articles and so much more related to the election and its results have not been good reading. I feel that I am in mourning for our once great country. We are not the same.
I realize in life that nothing stays the same, but the basics that our forefathers deemed important are all gone and won’t be coming back any time soon. The media certainly have done a job on all of us promoting what they thought we should know and there is much that we will never know. I try not to be cynical, but there is very little trust about what I read, see or hear from the media anymore. I have tried to be well-informed throughout my entire life regarding the things that will shape our lives and that of our country. However, there is no integrity in the media today.
I feel that a change in Washington, D.C., would give us a chance to pull ourselves out of this mess. My feelings about President Obama, the last four years and the next four years gives me very little reason to feel optimistic. I will try keep my hopes up and my mind open. I live in hope for a change for the better.
