Ron and Fran Henderson rode the Tygart Flyer with the Observer-Reporter on the Mountain Rail Adventures in Elkins, W.Va.

Gianna Muscard of Atlasburg took the O-R on her first train ride in June with her mother and grandmother on Amtrak to visit her uncle in Chicago, Ill.

Bev and Don Zofchak of South Strabane took the O-R on vacation to the beach in Atlantic City, N.J., with daughter Sara, son-in-law Scott and grandson Brock Morean.

Mark Diamond and Amy Ann Evans of Waynesburg took the O-R to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Allen and Gerri Coffield of Avella took the Observer-Reporter to the Andy Griffith museum in Mt. Airy, N.C.

Dan, Jill and Justin Freeman and Brady and Meghan McCracken, all of Amity, flew with the O-R to Disney World in June for their summer vacation.

Tom Bail, formerly of Rea, visited his old homestead, after almost 30 years gone, with his wife Shelly, and children Dalton and Dallas. They now live in Eaton, Colo. They enjoyed climbing the rocks and walking in the woods. They made a surprise visit with the O-R to Bill and Shirley Eakin.

Vic and Nancy Zarka and George and Janet Elich took the O-R along to Niagara Falls, Canada, to celebrate Nancy's birthday.

Ed, Dorothy and Mark Caffrey took the O-R along on their Royal Caribbean cruise to Bermuda.

Whitney Waters and Michele McGovern spent their summer vacation with the O-R in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On August 3, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Tiffany and Josh Bogardus wed. There to celebrate with the O-R are, from left, Kristin Keeney, Tiffany and Josh Bogardus, Debbie and Ken Wingard, Mark Wingard and Natalie Hanov.

Jim and June Murphy took the O-R to get some sun in February while vacationing in Palm Bay, Fla.

Russ and Janice Round took the O-R on a two month self-guided tour of Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island in Canada. They stopped at the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame to see "The Sidney Crosby Exhibit", home of the famous Crosby dryer.

Barbara Dewitt and Susan Kirr, both of Canonsburg, visited New York City, N.Y., to see the new Broadway musical, Motown the musical.

Mark, Darlene and Misty Loar of Washington took the O-R along in July to visit Hershey Park.

Mae and Rich Jakubetz and Phyllis and Paul Bednar took the O-R along to Las Vegas, Nev., to the Monte Carlo to see the Blue Man Group.

Mike and Esther Krajacic of Avella and son Darwin and wife Mary of Perryopolis took the O-R with them in June on their Alaskan cruise.

Mary Anne Waltz and her mother Emma Angott took the O-R along to see Emma's brothers Russell Chapman and wife Alice and Tom and wife Nicky Chapman for nine days. They are pictured in front of Fantasy Springs Casino in Palm Springs, Calif.

The O-R took a vacation to Ocean City, Md., with the grandchildren of Don and Laura Roach of Bulger. They are, from left, Annie Roach, Brittany Zalaznik, Emily Roach, Logan Nencioni and Ben Roach (front).

Clarine McCabe of Cecil took the O-R along to the town of Hum in northwestern Croatia in July, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's smallest town with just 17 premanent residents. She is with her grandparents, Sandra and Jack McCabe of Canonsburg and fellow travelers Alex Pazo and Abby Davis.

Joyce, John and Ashley Krause took the O-R to Santa Monica Pier in California while visiting Kim Krause Snyder and family who reside in Agoura Hills, Calif.

The O-R took a trip March 23 to Santa Bell Island, Fla. From left, Sandy Marks of Charleroi, Mary Kay Carson Gonzalez, formerly of Charleroi, now residing in Tampa, Fla., Rosemary Hancock of Washington, Linda Carson, formerly of Charleroi, now residing in Tampa, and Sally McElhaney of Washington.

Kris Scarci of McMurray and Jeff Smith of Canonsburg took the O-R along while hiking across the Matanuska glacier near Palmer, Alaska.

The O-R made a special appearance July 13 at the Trinity High School Class of 1945 reunion at the Ramada Inn.

Jim Roberts and son Alex, both of Prosperity, made it to the top of Mt. Whitney in California with the O-R.

The O-R celebrated the Fourth of July in Rehoboth Beach, Del., thanks to Courtney Miller, Andrew Wolf, Susan Bayard, David Wolf, Stephen Perez, Patrick Doman, Nick Relich and Lauren Menges.

The Birthday Club took the O-R to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to celebrate a birthday, which is a yearly tradition.
