Rosters for the Roundball Classic all-star games were released Monday, and several local players were selected to the event, which will be held April 15-16 at Geneva College.

Two preliminary games will be played Friday, April 15 and the main games are the next day.

April 15 will feature two preliminary round games: East/Class A tema vs. West/Class AA at 6:30 p.m.; and North/Class AAAA vs. South/Class AAA at 8:30 p.m. On April 16, the girls schedule is as follows: Class AA/District 10 vs. Class AAA/City League/District 10 at 2 p.m.; Class A/District 10 vs. Class AAAA at 4 p.m. The boys games are Class AA/District 10 vs. Class AAA/District 6 at 6 p.m.; Class A/City League/Prep vs. Class AAAA at 8 p.m.

Peters Township’s Nick Valentic was selected to the Quad-A boys team, which will be coached by Pine-Richland’s Jeff Ackermann. Lavalle Rush and Dwight Moore of Monessen will play for the Class A/City League Prep team coached by Allderdice’s Buddy Valinsky, which will play the Quad-A team April 16th at 8 p.m. Rush and Moore will be joined by Ramon Creighton, James Jackson, Jordan Rawls and Tim Jackson of Allderdice, and Kiski School’s Fabio Sohenl, who has a scholarship offer from Robert Morris.

The preliminary games will include for an alternate team from each classification. The West/Class AA team will feature Wash High’s Nate Swart and Charleroi’s John Arnold.

In girls basketball, Peters Township’s Madison Kerr, an IUP recruit, and Canon-McMillan’s Becca Turney, an Eastern Michigan recruit, were selected to the Quad-A all-star team. Ringgold’s Bailey Cooper, who will play at California, will be joined by South Fayette’s Emily Anderson, Trinity’s Mary Dunn and Trinity’s Delaney Elling on the Class AAA team, which will be led by South Fayette head coach Matt Bacco.

In Class AA, Wash High’s Tajah Gordon was the lone local selection.
