Burgettstown used six forfeits and three pins to come away with a 65-6 win over Washington in a Section 1A dual meet in Class AA.
Bill Brown (126), Cyle Conley (170) and Riley Kemper (Hvy) had pins for Burgettstown (2-0, 2-0). Cody Weber (220) had a pin for Washington (0-1, 0-1).
Cal moves to 10th
After posting a pair of victories earlier this week, the California University women’s basketball team jumped one position to No. 10 in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 poll Thursday afternoon.
The Vulcans (10-1) climbed back into the top 10 after sitting at No. 11 the last two weeks. In its first game in over a week, Cal won 80-59 against the District of Columbia. The Vulcans then overcame a 17-point deficit on Tuesday to extend their winning streak to five games with a 57-51 victory over West Virginia State.
Cal remains one of three teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division and is now one of five teams from the Atlantic Region featured in the rankings. IUP (10-0) jumped two spots to No. 3 after setting a school record for points on Monday in a 125-53 victory over Geneva, which is an NCAA Division III program.
