The work of Kiana Honarmand, “Behind the Black, Brown and Gold,” will be on display now through Dec. 3 at the Olin Fine Art Gallery on the Washington & Jefferson College campus. Honarmand, an Iranian artist, addresses issues related to her cultural identity, treatment of women in Iranian society, censorship, surveillance and the Western perception of the Middle East. Square Dance, with line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more, will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday at the Center Township fire hall, Rogersville. Caller will be Dave Dahl. Cost is $7 for adults, $10 per couple, and $5 ages 12 to 18. Beginners welcome or just come and watch. Food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30. For information call 724-499-5385.
The Pastoral Council at Holy Rosary Catholic Church will sponsor a fall craft and vendor show from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the church hall, 246 Muse-Bishop Road, Muse. More than 20 vendors will participate. Lunch will be available and there will be a bake sale. Admission is free. Proceeds will benefit the CCD program.
A Murder Mystery Dinner will be held Saturday at Thomas Presbyterian Church, 1068 Linden Road, Eighty Four. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., with dinner served at 6. Mystery’s Most Wanted will perform “I Loathe Lucy.” The menu will include baked ziti and meatballs, chicken, green beans, salad, dessert and ice tea or coffee. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the church office from 8 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday or by calling 724-941-8910.
The Clear Thoughts Foundation, a Pittsburgh nonprofit that raises funds to discover drugs and other therapies for dementia, will host a “Roll for a Reason Gala” at 6 p.m. Saturday at J. Verno Studios on the South Side. The Monte Carlo casino-themed event will include Bubba from Star 100.7 as emcee and celebrity dealers. Donations are being sought for a spaghetti dinner to benefit Karson Richards, 2, who needs a kidney transplant. The dinner will be held Saturday at Sputzy’s Pub & Grub, 42 Campbell Drive, Avella.
