The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, April 18, at the First United Methodist Church, 215 Church St., Brownsville. Participants can pick up their food from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. New clients may also register at this time. The next distribution date is May 16.

The Mon-Yough Chapter 3 of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology will meet on Thursday, April 19, in Room 203 of Frich Hall on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania. There will be a business meeting at 7 p.m. followed, at 7:30, by the featured speaker, Cassandra Kuba, Ph.D. Dr. Kuba is associate professor and chief of Forensic Anthropology at Cal U. An apparel show, sponsored by The Washington Hospital Auxiliary, will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 19 and 20, in the Community Room of The Washington Hospital. Cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express will be accepted, as well as payroll deduction for employees of the hospital.

“A Blast From the Past, Volume 5″ oldies show will be held starting at 5 p.m. Friday, April 20 at Charleroi Area High School. Johnny Angel and the Halos will headline the show, featuring the Hooligan Brothers Band, Mon Valley Rockers and DJ Frankie Day. Weather permitting, the event will feature a classic car show, dance lessons and food for purchase. All proceeds support the Charleroi Area School District Education Foundation. The Spring Quarterly Meeting of the Mon River Valley Coalition is scheduled for 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, at the Kara Alumni Center, 611 Second St., California University of Pennsylvania campus. Continental breakfast will be served.

The Waynesburg University Music Program will host its Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20 in the Marsh Center. Admission is free.

The South Hills Home Show will be held April 20-22 at the Cool Springs Sports Complex. Show hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The show will feature more than 100 exhibits, demonstrations and how-to clinics. Andy Amrhein will offer home remodeling advice at 2 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, Doug Oster will share the secrets of successful organic gardening at 2 p.m. Throughout the show, chainsaw sculptor Bill Schaudt will create one-of-a-kind works of art. Humane Animal Rescue will sell pet supplies and have cats available for adoption. A representative of Healthy Pet Products will discuss pet nutrition at 11 a.m. Saturday.
