West Greene 75, Geibel 12: Madison Lampe tossed in 16 points and surpassed 1,000 points in her career during West Greene’s 75-12 victory over Geibel in a Section 2-A game in Rogersville.

Lampe, a junior, needed 14 points coming into the game and now has 1,002. She is the seventh female in the program’s history to reach this milestone and moves into sixth place on the scoring list. Her twin sister McKenna accomplished the feat earlier in the season.

“They almost don’t take days off,” said West Greene head coach Jordan Watson. “Work ethic sets them apart. As freshmen, they were athletes. Now they are basketball players. They are the first players from the same team and same class at our school to reach 1,00 points. They are the first set of sisters at the school to accomplish this.”

Kaitlyn Rizor and McKenna Lampe each scored 15 points for WG (9-0, 17-1).

Geibel fell to 7-10, including 5-4 in the section.

Beth-Center 48, Serra 37: Beth-Center went on an 11-3 run in the third quarter to secure a 48-37 victory from Serra in a Section 3-AA game in Fredericktown.

Kinlee Whited scored 24 points and sank 11 of 14 free throws in the second half for Beth-Center (7-5, 11-7), which was tied with Serra, 17-17, at halftime.

Serra was sparked by Gigi Mele-Madigan’s 13 points.

Burgettstown 62, New Brighton 29: Malia Castellino and Addy Valdez combined for 25 points as Burgettstown downed New Brighton, 62-29, in a Section 1-AA game.

Castellino scored 13 points and Valdez had a career-high 12 for the Blue Devils (4-8, 8-12), who led 26-8 at halftime

Sidney Cook scored a game-high 22 points for New Brighton (1-10, 2-15).

Waynesburg 38, McGuffey 31: A 15-4 run in the fourth quarter by Waynesburg cemented a 38-31 victory over McGuffey in a Section 2 game in Class 3A in Claysville.

Shay Echegaray led Waynesburg (2-8, 5-14) with 12 points. The Raiders trailed after three quarters, 27-23.

Keira Nicolella tossed in 9 points for the Highlanders (1-9, 4-15), who have lost four straight.

Washington 66, Fort Cherry 36: A strong finish resulted in a 66-36 victory for Washington over Fort Cherry in a Section 1-AA game.

The win puts the Prexies (8-4, 11-6) in third place in the section behind OLSH and Chartiers-Houston. Fort Cherry (7-5, 12-7) slipped into fourth place.

Randi Thomas scored 16 points, Carley Allen 15 and Torri Finley 12 for the Prexies, who outscored FC, 40-15, in the second half.

McKenzie Faure’s 10 points led the visiting Rangers.

Boys Results

California 43, West Greene 37: Austin Grillo scored 17 points and California made a 6-point halftime lead stand for a 43-37 victory over West Greene in a non-section game in Rogersville.

Dru Miller chipped in with 12 points for California (10-8), which had a 23-17 lead at halftime.

Nathan Brudnock’s 18 points powered West Greene (6-12).

Bentworth 63, Mapletown 17: Three players scored in double figures as Bentworth downed Mapletown, 63-17, in a non-section game in Bentleyville.

Steven Harner led Bentworth (11-6) with 19 points; Ray Logan scored 12 points and Devond West had 10 points to go with 8 rebounds. Levi Jordan had a game-high 10 rebounds.

Ryan Carter scored 6 points for the Maples (0-19).
