Court cases

Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Among those appearing before Judge Michael J. Lucas were:

Gary William Hoover Jr., 29, 26 Fifth St., Vestaburg; simple assault; charged Feb. 21; sentence – 23 months in the intermediate punishment program, 60 days on electronic home monitoring and no contact with the victim.

Jarrod Jonathan Mitchell, 41, 1101 Willowbrook Drive, Washington; delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of drug paraphernalia; charged April 1 and Dec. 8, 2016; sentence – six to 23 months in jail, 30 months of probation and 25 hours of community service.

Joshua Kinsey Logan, 37, 105 Strickler St., Dawson; retail theft; charged Feb. 9; sentence – 30 days in jail, 24 months in the intermediate punishment program, 60 days on electronic home monitoring, restitution, 100 hours of community service and no contact with Walmart.

Nancy Schwaiger, 70, 27 Chestnut St., Canonsburg; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged March 17; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Francesco Maldonado, 23, 1022 Knox Ave., Monessen; disorderly conduct; charged March 10; sentence – 12 months of probation and 25 hours of community service.

Hillary Montesano, 24, 110 W. Wylie Ave., Washington; retail theft; charged Feb. 4; sentence – 12 months of probation, restitution and no contact with Shop ‘n Save.

David Zgorzeliski, 50, 411 Cardinal Drive, Hendersonville; disorderly conduct; charged Nov. 13, 2016; sentence – $200 fine.

Sunni Marie Komaniak, 27, 813 Popular St., Apt. C, Canonsburg; recklessly endangering another person, possession of a small amount of marijuana and accident involving damage to unattended property; charged Jan. 21, 2017; sentence – 12 months of probation, $800 fine, restitution, 50 hours of community service and no contact with the victims.

William A. Brawer, 61, 797 Linden Way, Franklin Lakes, N.J.; identity theft and forgery; charged June 7, 2016; sentence – six to 23 months in jail and two years of probation.

Malcom Lamar Hython, 25, 86 Armstrong Drive, Washington; strangulation and simple assault; charged May 19; sentence – one year less one day to two years less two days in jail and two years of probation.

Jennifer Rose Kroskie, 33, 1339 McKean Ave., Donora; simple assault and resisting arrest; charged May 22, 2017; sentence – 15 days to 23 months in jail, two years of probation and 50 hours of community service.

Felicia Eddy, 39, 24 Carson St., Belle Vernon; driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia; charged May 8; sentence – 12 months of probation, 60 days on electronic home monitoring, $1,000 fine and 25 hours of community service.

Tyler James Vidak, 22, 116 Pinewood Drive, Bridgeville; disorderly conduct and speeding; charged March 20; sentence – 12 months of probation and $61 fine.

Charles W. McAfee, 40, 2038 State Route 168, Trailer 4, Georgetown; robbery, driving with a suspended license and theft by unlawful taking; charged May 5 and Aug. 21; sentence – seven to 23 months in jail, three years of probation, restitution, $200 fine, 100 hours of community service and no contact with the victims, Grab N’ Go and Wysocki Auto Sales.

Christopher Jerald Levato, 24, 1865 12th St., Beaver Falls; resisting arrest; charged Aug. 19; sentence – 18 months of probation, restitution and no contact with Key Bank Pavilion.

Anthony Joseph Maruca, 26, 359 Lynn Portal Road, Washington; theft; charged April 10; sentence – 12 months of probation, restitution and no contact with the victim.

Robert Lee James, 28, 75 E. Walnut St., Apt. 4, Washington; simple assault; charged July 18; sentence – two years of probation and no contact with the victim.

Travis Wiles, 18, 78 Third Ave., Atlasburg; disorderly conduct, maximum speed limits and purchase, consumption, possession and/or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages; charged May 13; sentence – $661 fine.

Bernard Vincent Griffin, 51, 680 Maryland Ave., Washington; five counts of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility; charged March 6; sentence – 36 months of probation and prohibited from using the internet for 60 days.

Jeremy L. Newman, 26, 44 Main St., Atlasburg; driving with a suspended license; charged June 19; sentence – $200 fine.

Justin Micha Paglisotti, 25, 1523 Main St., Apt. 3, Burgettstown; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Feb. 21; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Paul E. Wagner, 53, 162 Arnold Hollow Road, Houston; firearms not to be carried; charged July 15; sentence – 18 months of probation.

Robert Orlando Hartwell, 55, 1525 Summerdale St., Pittsburgh; retail theft; charged June 25; sentence – $50 fine.

Joshua David Stone, 30, 126 Jeanne St., Washington; flight to avoid apprehension, possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment; charged Jan. 17, 2017; sentence – 14 days in jail, 24 months of probation, 24 months in the intermediate punishment program, 90 days on electronic home monitoring, 100 hours of community service and no contact with the victim.

Devin James Gordon, 21, 893 Rocky Run Road, West Finley; driving under the influence and driving an unregistered vehicle; charged Aug. 5; sentence – three to six months in jail and $1,025 fine.

Jason Wagner, 33, 72 Dinsmore Ave., Burgettstown; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person; charged Sept. 4; sentence – four months in jail, 24 months in the intermediate punishment program, 12 months of probation and no contact with the victim.

Barri Allin Russel Booth, 25, 1694 The Circle, Washington; burglary, access device fraud, two counts of criminal conspiracy to commit burglary and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; charged May 25 and June 14; sentence – six to 23 months in jail, 24 months of probation, 18 months in the intermediate punishment program, 90 days on electronic home monitoring, restitution, 225 hours of community service and no contact with the victims and McGuffey Community Park.

Heather Jo Stewart, 42, 80 Campbell Ave., Washington; bad checks; charged June 19; sentence – two years in the intermediate punishment program, 30 days on electronic home monitoring, 50 hours of community service, restitution and no contact with Washington Community Federal Credit Union.

Zachary James Mingo, 30, 809 N. Main St., Apt. 3, Washington; simple assault; charged June 5; sentence – 12 months of probation and 50 hours of community service.

The following recently appeared in Washington County Court for first offenses of driving under the influence and were admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program. If they successfully complete the program, they can petition the court to have their records expunged: Kenneth Michael Crouser, 28, 819 Governors Circle, Washington; Kyle Douglas Imbrescia, 24, 401 Indiana Ave., Monessen; Vincent Paul McConville, 19, 35 Carroll Way, Monongahela; and Thomas J. Knesboro, 63, 824 W. Pike St., Houston.

Ashley Yater, 33, 55 W. Prospect Ave., Washington, was admitted for theft.
