3 min read

In his first start, Washington & Jefferson sophomore wide receiver Andrew Wolf had nine receptions for 214 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Presidents to a 37-12 win over St. John Fisher in a non-conference game at Growney Stadium Saturday afternoon.

A pair of Wolf’s touchdowns broke the game open in the second quarter. W&J quarterback Jacob Adams connected with Wolf on a 15-yard score, then from 46 yards less than two minutes later to give the Presidents a 23-0 lead with 6:32 left in the second quarter.

St. John Fisher cut into its deficit when Pat Galer hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joshua Michels to bring the score to 23-6 with 7:35 remaining in the third quarter.

But W&J answered immediately, putting together an eight-play, 70-yard drive that finished with another 15-yard touchdown connection between Wolf and Adams to push the lead back to 30-6.

Adams completed 13 of 20 passes for 286 and the three scores to Wolf. Washington High School graduate Jordan West had 106 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

The Presidents, who had 491 total yards and were 6 of 13 on their third down conversions, open Presidents’ Athletic Conference play at home against Thiel next Saturday.
