Boys soccer
Trinity rallied for two goals in the final eight minutes and defeated Chartiers-Houston, 2-1, on the road in non-section play.
The Buccaneers (3-7-2) took a 1-0 lead after a goal by Jared Waggett. Matt Bucha assisted on the goal.
Jonah Spencer tied the match up at 1-1 with seven minutes left, and then the Hillers (6-5) took the lead with 24 seconds remaining in the second half after a free kick goal by Jacob Paez.
Chris Retchage made eight saves in the loss for C-H.
• Belle Vernon suffered a 3-0 defeat to Mt. Pleasant in a non-section affair.
TJ Watson faced three shots in net for the Leopards (8-3-1).
The win brings Mt. Pleasant’s overall record to 8-2.
Girls soccer
Trinity increased its winning streak to four matches after a 3-0 triumph over Chartiers-Houston in non-section action.
Samantha Schury, Holley Jenkins and Alyssa Clutter all had goals for the Hillers (9-2).
Kasey Scears registered 25 saves for the Buccaneers (7-5).
•Waynesburg steamrolled to a 10-0 victory over Derry on the road in Section 3-AA action.
Rhea Kijowski netted four goals and three assists for the Raiders (7-1, 9-2), while Kylie Sinn garnered three goals and an assist. Elise Benke, Abby Lipscomb and Regan Carlson all had one goal in the lopsided win.
McKenzie Booth recorded one save in net for Waynesburg.
The loss drops Derry to 1-6 in section and 1-8 overall.
Girls field hockey
Peters Township took a 5-2 victory against Penn-Trafford in Division I action.
Maura Farinelli garnered a hat trick for the Indians, while Lexi Lawrence and Nica Schratz tallied goals.
