Duquesne suffers first loss

Jalen Benjamin scored a season-high 18 points and UAB used two late runs to hand Duquesne its first loss of the season on Sunday, winning 77-68 in the St. Pete Shootout.

Tyreek Scott-Grayson added 16 points for the Blazers (8-4), who won their fourth straight.

The Dukes (10-1) were within one on Sincere Carry’s three-point play with 2:45 remaining when Benjamin had a 3-pointer and three free throws in a 10-0 surge that decided the game.

Duquesne was off to its best start since the 1953-54 team went 22-0.

Marcus Weathers led Duquesne with 18 points.

In the NBA

Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors used a huge fourth quarter to pull off the NBA’s biggest comeback in a decade.

Lowry had 32 points and 10 assists, Chris Boucher scored a career-high 21 points and the Raptors overturned a 30-point deficit to beat the Dallas Mavericks 110-107 on Sunday.

It was the biggest comeback in Raptors history, and the NBA’s first 30-point comeback since Sacramento beat Chicago on Dec. 21, 2009, according to Elias.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson scored 18 points and Fred VanVleet had 10 as the short-handed Raptors won their fifth straight and improved to 13-3 at home.

Porzingis had 19 points and 12 rebounds. Jalen Brunson scored 21 points for Dallas.

  • Jayson Tatum had a career-high 39 points and 12 rebounds, Kemba Walker scored 23 points against his former team, and the Boston Celtics beat the Charlotte Hornets 119-93.

Tatum eclipsed his previous high of 34 points against Brooklyn on Jan. 14. Jaylen Brown added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Devonte’ Graham had 23 points and 10 assists, Bismack Biyombo scored 18 and Miles Bridges 15 to lead the Hornets.

In the NHL

Chris Kreider scored twice, and New York beat Anaheim 5-1 on Sunday, ending a three-game skid..

Mika Zibanejad had a goal and an assist, while Filip Chytil and Brett Howden also scored for the Rangers. Henrik Lundqvist made 19 saves.

Anaheim was missing its three leading scorers, with Rickard Rakell (upper-body injury), Ryan Getzlaf (flu), and Jakob Silfverberg (flu) all sitting out.
