In the NHL
Nolan Patrick scored 2:01 into overtime and the Philadelphia Flyers rallied past the Edmonton Oilers 5-4 Saturday, extending their winning streak to a season-best seven games.
Edmonton has lost four in a row and 13 of 18.
The Flyers scored twice in the third period to tie it. Patrick then won the game on the third opportunity by his line in OT after Edmonton goalie Cam Talbot made big saves on both Travis Sanheim and James van Riemsdyk.
- Nico Hischier scored at 1:56 of overtime after tying it midway through the third period in the New Jersey Devils’ 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
Will Butcher also scored, and Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 37 shots for New Jersey.
College wrestling
Alex Miller led the way for Washington & Jefferson at the John Summa Tournament hosted by Baldwin Wallace on Saturday.
As a team, the Presidents placed 11th out of 15 with 26 points.
Miller was W&J’s lone placewinner, finishing fourth in the 184-pound weight class. The junior went 2-2 and scored 16 points for the Presidents.
In the NBA
Lou Williams scored 16 Los Angeles points in a row during a torrid fourth-quarter stretch, and the Clippers rallied from a 25-point deficit to beat the Detroit Pistons 111-101 Saturday night.
The Clippers trailed by 25 in the second quarter and were down 83-60 in the third before storming back to tie the game at 89 in the fourth. It was 91-all before Williams scored every Los Angeles point during a decisive run that put the Clippers up 107-96.
- Nikola Vucevic had 24 points and 12 rebounds, Evan Fournier added 16 points and the Orlando Magic beat the Brooklyn Nets, 102-89.
Aaron Gordon added 15 points for Orlando, which won its second straight. Jonathan Isaac had 10 points and 12 rebounds, and D.J. Augustin added 12 points and eight assists.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 37 points, making all of his season-high 17 free throws in a perfect night at the line for Milwaukee, and had 10 rebounds to help the NBA-leading Bucks rout the Washington Wizards, 131-115.
Two games ahead of Toronto for the Eastern Conference lead, the Bucks have won three straight, nine of 10 and 20 of 24.
