Mitchell, Gobert help Jazz breeze past Spurs

Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points, Rudy Gobert had 21 points and 13 rebounds and the Utah Jazz beat the San Antonio Spurs 125-105 on Saturday.

Royce O’Neale tied his season high with 17 points and made all four of his 3-point attempts to help the Jazz claim their third win in their last four games.

Ricky Rubio, who took to social media to celebrate surviving the trade deadline to stay with Utah, tallied 16 points, six rebounds and six assists.

DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points and LaMarcus Aldridge had 15 for the Spurs, who have lost four in a row on their eight-game trip while their home arena hosts a 17-day stock show and rodeo.

Knotted at 32, the Jazz scored nine consecutive points, including two baskets at the rim by Gobert, to gain command. The Jazz got to the rim repeatedly and outscored the Spurs 22-2 in the paint during the second quarter and led 62-48 at the half.

Indiana 105, Cleveland 90: Bojan Bogdanovic scored 23 points and the Indiana Pacers extended their winning streak to five games with a 105-90 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Darren Collison added 18 points, Myles Turner had 14 points and eight rebounds and Domantas Sabonis came off the bench to score 13 points and grab 10 rebounds for the Pacers, who led by as many as 21 points.

Jordan Clarkson led the Cavaliers with 18 points, Larry Nance Jr. scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Collin Sexton added 16 points for Cleveland.

Bogdanovic and Turner shared the scoring load for Indiana to start the game, combining for 26 of the Pacers’ 54 first-half points. Turner started off the game scoring eight of the Pacers’ first 12 points, forcing Cleveland into an early timeout with back-to-back 3-pointers.

The Pacers scored 30 points in the first quarter and led by 12 points at the half and never looked back.
