Mapletown 46, California 38: Sisters Kelsi and Kayla Smith each scored 15 points as Mapletown upended second-place California, 46-38, in a Class A Section 2 game.

Jumping out to an early lead, 13-7 after the first quarter, Mapletown (3-4, 7-7) held off a second-half rally from the Trojans by scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter. Kelsi Smith also grabbed 11 rebounds for the double-double.

California (5-2, 7-6), which only scored 13 points in the first half, was paced by Makayla Boda’s eight points.

Fort Cherry 46, Bentworth 27: McKenzie Faure scored 14 points and Fort Cherry didn’t surrender a point in the third quarter to defeat Bentworth, 46-27, in Class 2A Section 3.

The win for the Rangers, who improve to 4-3 in the section and 6-8 overall, ends their three-game losing streak. Kayla Salvini also scored 10 points to help Fort Cherry remain at fourth place in the section.

Jocelyn Timlin was the lone player for Bentworth (0-7, 1-13) to score in double figures. She scored 11 points.

Upper St. Clair 56, Canon-McMillan 45: Sarah Price and Cassie Kartsonas combined to score 42 points as Upper St. Clair handed Canon-McMillan its sixth straight loss, 56-45, in a Class 6A Section 2 game.

Deadlocked entering halftime, 23-23, Upper St. Clair (5-3, 8-6) outscored the Big Macs 18-8 in the third quarter. Price led the Panthers with 26 points, while Kartsonas finished with 16.

Lacey Russell scored 10 points for Canon-McMillan (2-6, 5-9).

Belle Vernon 52, Ringgold 39: Belle Vernon rode six three-pointers, including three from Rachel Wobrak, to a 52-39 victory over Class 4A Section 3 foe Ringgold.

Wobrak, who scored a game-high 20 points, helped Belle Vernon (5-3, 8-3) end a three-game losing streak and jump out to a big lead in the second quarter. The Leopards outscored Ringgold 16-4 in the second to take a 30-16 halftime lead.

Kyela Dungee led Ringgold (1-7, 3-11) with 12 points. Faith Martin scored 11.

Seton-La Salle 43, Beth-Center 33: Slowly forging a lead in the opening two quarters, Seton-La Salle scored 14 points in the fourth to pull away and defeat Beth-Center, 43-33, in a Class 3A Section 2 game.

The Rebels led 29-26 entering the final eight minutes behind four players with eight points. Sydney Carr, Sarah Merlina, Vanessa Hudson and Chloe Lestitian each finished with eight points for Seton-La Salle (6-2, 7-7).

Frankie Pryor choose the unusual path as the only player to score in double figures. All of Pryor’s game-high 10 points were from the foul line for Beth-Center (5-3, 9-5).
