When the undefeated Peters Township High School girls basketball team returns to action for a Class 6A second-round game in the PIAA tournament, the Indians will be on a familiar court playing against a very familiar opponent.

The Indians (26-0) will play section rival Bethel Park (22-3) Tuesday night at Canon-McMillan High School. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

It will be the fourth meeting of the season between the teams and second to be played at Canon-McMillan. Peters Township won the two regular-season games against the Black Hawks (68-60 in overtime and 61-46). Bethel Park, which is 0-3 against PT but 22-0 against everybody else on their schedule, held the ball for much of its WPIAL semifinal matchup with the Indians before Peters Township pulled out a 36-28 victory. That game also was played at Canon-McMillan.

The winner plays either Norwin (22-2) or District 11 champion Northhampton (25-4) in the quarterfinals Friday night.

Monessen, the area’s only boys team that remains alive in the PIAA tournament, also plays Tuesday night. The Greyhounds will face District 6 runner-up Bishop Carroll (20-5) at Greensburg Salem High Schoool. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.

The Monessen-Bishop Carroll winner plays either WPIAL champion Nazareth Prep (20-3) or District 5 champion Shade (22-4) in the quarterfinals.
