Sullivan struck out five and only allowed an unearned run in the third inning.
The lead for Chartiers-Houston (0-1) didn’t last long as the Highlanders batted around in the bottom half of the third inning for all four of their runs.

Cal’s Barrett named All-American
California University redshirt senior forward Seairra Barrett was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division II All-America Team on Monday night.
Barrett was one of only 10 players in the country to receive the honor. She received WBCA All-America Honorable Mention as a junior following the 2016-17 campaign. Barrett is the fifth player in Vulcans history to earn recognition multiple times.
After missing last season because of an injury, Barrett ranked among the top 15 in the country in scoring at 21.2 points per game while shooting nearly 50 percent. Barrett led the PSAC with 8.7 rebounds per game and ranked third in the league with 2.69 steals.
Barrett ranks eighth among active players in NCAA Division II with 1,961 points, which are fifth-most in Cal history. She had the second-highest single-season point total in school history this year with 679 points. The two-time PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year is only the fourth Cal player with 1,000 career rebounds.
Avenatti charged in Nike extortion case
Michael Avenatti, the attorney best known for representing porn actress Stormy Daniels in lawsuits against President Donald Trump, was arrested Monday on charges that included trying to shake down Nike for as much as $25 million by threatening the company with bad publicity.
Avenatti, who was also accused of embezzling a client’s money to pay his own expenses, was charged with extortion and bank and wire fraud in separate cases in New York and California. He was arrested at a New York law firm where he had gone to meet with Nike executives.
Avenatti allegedly threatened to hold a news conference last week on the eve of Nike’s quarterly earnings call and the start of the NCAA basketball tournament to announce allegations of misconduct by Nike employees. The attorney and a co-conspirator demanded to be paid $15 million to $25 million and an additional $1.5 million for an Avenatti client to remain silent, the complaint said.
