Girls soccer

Jordyn Sikora scored four goals, Maddy Suppler and Sensi Yendell each had two tallies, and McGuffey won its third straight match, 12-1, over visiting Geibel Catholic on Saturday.

McGuffey (2-0, 3-1) is tied for first place with Chartiers-Houston in Section 2A.

Gracie Allender, Brynn Klerr, Averie haines and Lola yendell each scored one goal for the Highlanders, who have outscored their opponents 21-4 during the winning streak.

  • Chartiers-Houston kept pace with McGuffey in Section 2A by defeating host Charleroi, 6-1.

Lexi Durkacs scored two goals for the Bucs, who improved to 2-0 in the section and 3-2 overall. Ashley Horvath, Kayla Brose, Olivia Bordley and Alyssa Wright each had a goal for C-H.

The lone goal for Charleroi (0-1, 0-2) was scored by Bella Skobel.

  • Trinity rode three goals from Alyssa Clutter to defeat Woodland Hills 6-1 in Class 3A Section 3. The win moves Trinity to 2-0 in the section and overall.
  • Peters Township scored two first-half goals and then held off visiting Upper St. Clair in a battle for first place in Class 4A Section 2.

The Indians are 2-0 in the section and 4-0 overall. They are tied for first place in the section with Moon.

Macy Trax gave PT a 1-0 lead with a goal with 23:15 left in the first half. Rachel Raber had an assist.

The Indians’ lead grew to 2-0 when C.C. Scott scored off a feed from Hannah Stuck less than four minutes after Trax’s goal.

Upper St. Clair (1-1, 1-1) scored with 29:18 remaining in the match but the Indians’ defense proected the one-goal lead.

Boys soccer

  • Canon-McMillan remained undefeated with a 4-0 shutout of Montour in a nonsection match Saturday evening.

The Big Macs, who have outscored their opponents 27-0, received two goals from Joey Fonagy, one from Luke Gladden and another from Tommy Samosky. Gladden and Samosky each contributed an assist. The Big Macs played three goalkeepers, who split time and combined for the shutout.

  • Belle Vernon edged Elizabeth Forward 3-2 to improve its record to 5-0. It’s the best start to a season for the Leopards since 2002.
  • Norwin defeated Ringgold 1-0 in a non-section match to move to 4-0-1. Ringgold fell to 2-3.
  • Elijah Cincinnati scored three times and added three assists to help Trinity to a 9-0 rout of McKeesport n a non-section match.

Logan Errett scored two goals and added two assists for Trinity (2-1). Mason Pendergast and Alden Belcastro each had a goal and assist. Jonah Spencor, Zack Thornburg and Jacob Paez each scored once. Colby Thomas got the shutout.

McKeesport fell to 0-3.
