High school basketball roundup
Failing to overcome a slugging start, Peters Township lost to District 10 champion McDowell, 69-58, in a PIAA Class 6A first-round boys basketball game Saturday afternoon at Edinboro University.

Four-star recruit William Jeffress helped McDowell get a lead with a pair of triples in the opening quarter. He finished with a game-high 23 points. Jaedan Jefferson also had a big game for the Trojans with 17 points.
It was the last game for Peters Township coach Gary Goga, who told his team late last week that he was going to resign following the season. Goga had spent 15 years at Peters Township, making the WPIAL playoffs eight times and finishing with a 172-177 record.
