Rohanna makes cut
Rachel Rohanna of Waynesburg advanced to the third round of the Symetra Tour Championship Wednesday by being right at the cut with a two-round total of 8-over 152.
Rohanna is in a four-way tie for 57th place after starting the day the day in 29th place.
Laura Wearn and Frida Kinhult share the lead midway through the tournament at 5-under 139.
In the NFL
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, although his wife Kelly said on social media he tested negative.
It was the second straight day the team gave a player the designation. The Reserve/COVID-19 list was created for players who either test positive or have been in close contact with an infected person.
n The San Francisco 49ers have shut down their facility after receiver Kendrick Bourne tested positive for the coronavirus but are still scheduled to play Green Bay tonight as of now.
The team said the positive test came back Wednesday morning and Bourne immediately went into self-quarantine after getting the diagnosis. He was later placed on the COVID-19 list.
The Niners later placed starting left tackle Trent Williams, and receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel on the COVID-19 list because of “high risk” contacts with Bourne. Samuel was already out this week with a hamstring injury.
Louisville-Virginia ppd.Louisville has paused all football activities and its Saturday game at Virginia has been postponed at least a week because of a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Nine Louisville players, mostly on defense, were held out of last week’s 42-35 loss to Virginia Tech. Coach Scott Satterfield said afterward that some of the absences were COVID-19-related.
