Priests with Fayette County ties mark anniversary jubilees of their ordinations
Several priests with Fayette County ties will mark the anniversary jubilees of their ordinations with a concelebrated Mass Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Christ our Shepherd Center in Greensburg.
A native of Uniontown, Father Mandock retired from military service and the Diocese of Greensburg in 2000. He was ordained a priest May 13, 1972, at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral by Bishop William G. Connare.
Rev. Robert M. Washko – 45 Years
A Uniontown native, Father Washko attended St. Mary Seminary in Cleveland, Ohio, and was ordained to the priesthood June 11, 1997, at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral, Cleveland.
Father Alan W. Grote – 40 Years
Father Grote, a native of Uniontown, was ordained to the priesthood May 1, 1982, by Bishop William G. Connare at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
Father John A. Sedlak – 40 Years
Father Sedlak, a Fayette City native, was ordained to the priesthood May 1, 1982, by Bishop William G. Connare at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
Father William J. Lechnar – 25 Years
Father Lechnar, a Uniontown native, was ordained a priest June 7, 1997, by Bishop Anthony G. Bosco at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
Priests Celebrating Local Ties
Father John M. Butler – 45 Years
Father Butler was ordained to the priesthood on May 13, 1972 by Bishop William G. Connare at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
His local ties include a stint as administrator and pastor at St. John the Evangelist Parish, Connellsville. He also has served as administrator of the former Holy Trinity Parish, Connellsville while continuing as pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Connellsville, the former All Saints Parish, Masontown and administrator of the former St. Mary our Lady of Perpetual Help, Leckrone, Saint Patrick Parish, Brady’s Bend where he retired in 2019.
Rev. Kenneth G. Zaccagnini – 40 Years
Father Zaccagnini was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop William G. Connare May 1, 1982, at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
Among the parishes at which he served as pastor are St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Parish, Uniontown, and he served as administrator of a number of parishes, including St. Mary (Nativity) Parish, Uniontown.
