LETTER: No chance Pennsylvanians will get a tax rebate

1 min read

In the Editorial Voice From Elsewhere by the Philadelphia Inquirer the discussion of “gas tax refund” includes the statement “While the state does have a budget surplus”. This bit of information just makes me cringe! Why must we argue about imposing tolls on I-79 bridges into Pittsburgh and failure of the state to efficiently collect existing outstanding tolls under these conditions? A pox on those responsible for not effectively and appropriately allocating state monies. This year Georgia rebated money to its taxpayers in light of its surplus. In light of the sad inability of our politicians to keep track of inflow and outflow the chances of that in Pennsylvania are absolutely zero.
