Davoun Fuse completed 7 of 9 passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns and scored a fourth on a run Friday night as Washington belted Brentwood 62-7 in a Class 2A Century Conference game at Brentwood.
Washington moved to 1-0 in the conference and 4-1 overall. Brentwood fell to 0-2 in the conference and 1-4 overall.
Zach Welsh rushed for 138 yards and scored a touchdown and Treshawn Porter gained 86 yards and scored twice. Carlos Harper scored on 6-yard run and a 65-yard kickoff return to start the third quarter.
Washington rolled up 540 total yards and held Brentwood to 59, including a net-0 rushing.
Washington scored on all seven possessions to take a 48-0 halftime lead. Washington’s defense held Brentwood to two first downs.
Devoun Fuse threw three touchdowns, on each to Logan Carlisle, Ruben Gordon and Zxavian Willis. Fuse also scored on a 39-yard run in the first quarter.
Zach Welsh and Carlos Harper each had a scoring run.
Washington produced 258 rushing yards in the half.
McGuffey 63, Waynesburg 20
Waynesburg scored the game’s first points but McGuffey reeled off nine consecutive touchdowns and went on to defeat the Raiders 63-20 in a Class 2A Century Conference game.
Waynesburg (0-2, 0-5) took a 7-0 lead less than four minutes into the game when Trent Zupper caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Chase Fox.
It was all McGuffey (2-0, 4-1) from that point. The Highlanders scored 21 points before the first quarter ended and pushed their lead to 49-7 at halftime.
Seven different Highlanders scored touchdowns, including quarterback Phillip McCuen, who had TD runs of 42 and 38 yards and threw a 54-yard scoring pass to Travis White, the latter giving the Highlanders a 14-7 lead.
Conner Crow had a 13-yard touchdown run and threw a 32-yard TD pass to Tristan McAdoo.
McGuffey’s Eric Donnelly had TD runs of 3 and 12 yards in the second quarter. Kyle Brookman had a seven-yard scoring run.
Waynesburg had two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, one on a 17-yard run by Fox and the other when Colby Pauley caused a fumble and returned it 34 yards for a score.
Burgettstown 14, Chartiers-Houston 8
Rudy Brown rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown, and Sondre Lundie threw for one score and had a key interception late in the game as Burgettstown held off host Chartiers-Houston 14-8 in a key Class 2A Black Hills Conference game.
Burgettstown (1-1, 2-2) led 14-0 after three quarters but Chartiers-Houston (0-2, 3-2), which has lost two in a row, made it a one-score game when quarterback Terry Fetsko passed 19 yards to Jake Mele for a touchdown with 7:08 remaining. The duo hooked up for a two-point conversion – the Bucs’ kicker is injured – to make it 14-8.
Chartiers-Houston then recovered a squib kickoff, but Lundie intercepted a Bucs pass with less than four minutes to play. The Blue Devils were able to run out the clock.
Brown gave Burgettstown a 7-0 lead with an 18-yard TD run midway through the first quarter.
Lundie, who completed eight of 11 passes in the first half, made it 14-0 when he tossed a nine-yard scoring pass to tight end Brodie Kuzior in the second quarter.
The Blue Devils’ defense held Chartiers-Houston to negative rushing yards in the first half, 27 for the game and shut out the Bucs until the fourth quarter.
Fetsko completed 13 of 25 passes for 118 yards. Mele caught 10 of those passes, netting 105 yards.
McKeesport 35, Trinity 6
The Tigers of McKeesport roared for 28 first-half points to secure a 35-6 victory over visiting Trinity in a Class 4A Big Seven Conference game.
Trinity fell to 1-1 in the conference and 2-3 overall. McKeesport moved to 2-0 in the conference and 4-0 overall.
McKeesport built a 28-6 halftime lead thanks to two scores by Jimeer Brown. The first came on a 21-yard pass from quarterback Jahmil Perryman and the second came on a 15-yard fumble return.
Perryman opened the scoring for McKeesport with a 12-yard run. That erased a 3-0 lead by Trinity when Andy Palm hit a 33-yard field goal. Palm would connect on a second field goal in the next quarter.
Dahmier Clark also scored on a 10-yard run.
Belle Vernon 21, Thomas Jefferson 7
Quinton Martin opened the scoring by returning a punt 97 yards for a touchdown and Belle Vernon never trailed in handing Thomas Jefferson a 21-7 loss in a non-conference matchup.
The Leopards (2-2), snapped a two-game losing streak by forging a 21-0 lead. Jake Gedekoh had a 14-yard TD run in the first quarter that gave the Leopards a 14-0 lead and caught a 50-yard scoring pass from Braden Laux in the third quarter.
Thomas Jefferson’s lone points came in the fourth quarter. Ryan Lawry had a six-yard touchdown run.

Charleroi bounced back from a lopsided loss last week to defeat visiting Jeannette 24-20 in a non-conference game.
Connellsville kept Ringgold winless by defeating the visiting Rams 20-6 in a Class 4A Big Seven Conference game.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart remained undefeated by stopping visiting Fort Cherry 40-24 in the Class A Black Hills Conference.
West Greene won a shootout over visiting Bentworth, 49-33, in the Class A Tri-County South Conference. Also in the TCS, Jefferson-Morgan was a 28-14 winner over Beth-Center.
