McDonald firefighter Mike Lauderbaugh, who assisted in New York City following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, spoke with students at Trinity North Elementary School during the school’s 9/11 observation.

Trinity North Elementary School students and staff observed 9/11, Patriot Day with a variety of activities, including a visit from first responders.

McDonald Fire Department firefighter Mike Lauderbaugh talked with students and showed pictures about the time he spent at Ground Zero in New York City. Trinity North presented first responders with plaques.

The intermediate classes viewed a webinar, “Anniversary in the Schools,” to learn more about 9/11. The younger students watched a BrainPOP video.

Additionally, “Never Forget” ribbons, 9/11 watches, first responder pages, and flags were made to recognize the event, and Dr. Sam Demian held moments of silence throughout the morning to honor the 9/11 victims.
