A woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle crash on Route 136 in North Strabane Township.

A pickup truck and SUV collided about 9:30 a.m. on the state highway near the intersection with Linnwood Road, forcing the brief closure of Route 136 near Eighty Four while crews removed the wreckage.

North Strabane fire Chief Rich Yosi said the woman was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh area hospital following the crash, although he did not know the identities of the motorists involved or the severity of their injuries.

North Strabane police, who are investigating the crash, could not be reached for comment.
